Spring has finaly arrived after a long, cold and very wet 2 months - but the time has not been lost. With Jolene, Jez, and Imyla here with us a great deal has been achieved in spite of conditions and a 2½ year-old just on the cusp of discovering she has a will of her own. It is incredible how much Imyla has developed in such a short time, in language, co-ordination and social skills. We love her dearly, and she has charmed even our most beloved teddy-bears out of us and taken them back to england.
In the old chicken run is going to be our first properly fenced gardens. Thanks again to the efforts of Jez and Jo a good part of the ground there is already dug ready for us to begin planting potatoes and beans safe from the pigs and deer who like to think we're gardening just for them. Now we just need to work out how to grow leeks, onions and garlic without the rats and mice running off with them...
